Everyone knows my photographic sense is a little "off"...a little "skewed"...somewhat at the crossroads of expression and collapse. Some struggle with my sense of color, my acceptance of lenticular distortion and my cryptic titles, yet I would imagine there is a portion of art-responders who garner satisfaction from the not-nearly-absolutely-objectified, the brought-back-sensually-from-the edges-of-abjection and the predicted-and-practiced-entropic-recontextualized.

I have cracked a quahog clam to find parts to mend the kill hole of a legally harvested conch. Patching the hole will allow the trumpeting action to occur. The spire has been sawn off, but not finished. Conch trumpets are aspects of ancient human activity still utilized in the present.

"There is a guarantee of work for the hive and a promise of honey to be shared amongst thousands...amongst millions. Who will sacrifice their stinger? Who will be chosen for the high prize? Who will succumb to external forces or insatiable devourer (that's a bear, right?). Who said school or anything else was easy? © 2013 James Warren"
